Our Origin Story
The Silver Sparrow Story
Silver Sparrow was founded on a simple yet powerful idea: to make self-development approachable, fun, and deeply impactful.
It all started when Megan and Steven (a husband-and-wife team) found themselves wishing for a better version of traditional spirit cards. Something that combined real therapeutic techniques with immersive storytelling to make healing feel more natural, empowering, and maybe even fun.
That vision became Hero’s Ascent: a fantasy-themed self-discovery card deck designed to help you reconnect with yourself through engaging lessons, guided activities, and positive affirmations.
Each card draws from evidence-based approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, and emotional regulation techniques—all woven into a journey that feels as meaningful as it is memorable.
Founder Spotlight
Megan
Megan’s journey into healing and self-discovery started long before Silver Sparrow was born.
With a background in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) training, hypnotherapy, and equine-assisted psychotherapy, she has spent years guiding people on their personal growth journeys with compassion and care.
And through her work with clients and her own inner journey, Megan discovered a powerful truth:
Healing doesn’t have to be overwhelming or intimidating. It can be playful, empowering, and even joyful when approached with curiosity and creativity.
At Silver Sparrow, Megan brought that philosophy to life by writing every card in Hero's Ascent. She ensured that each lesson, activity, and affirmation is rooted in therapy-informed techniques like Parts Work (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, emotional regulation strategies, and more.
She also brings her knowledge to social media and wears many hats behind the scenes by helping run the business, shape the brand, and support the community we’re building.
Megan pours her heart into creating tools that help people reconnect with their inner strength, making healing feel safe, joyful, and deeply transformative.

Steven
Steven’s journey has always been about helping others and finding purpose.
From his days as a 911 EMT, witnessing the resilience of the human spirit, to launching his first business just months after earning his Finance Degree from Boise State, Steven has always been driven to make a difference.
Through his own personal growth journey, he discovered that strength comes from within, and that the right tools can make all the difference.
With a passion for helping people and creating meaningful change, Steven co-founded Silver Sparrow to make healing approachable, fun, and deeply impactful.
He believes self-discovery isn’t about “fixing” yourself, but about rediscovering your courage, wisdom, and inner magic.
At Silver Sparrow, Steven brings that vision to life by carefully crafting the artwork on every card and product, developing and maintaining the website, and building the many systems that keep the business running behind the scenes. He also plays an active role in creative direction, marketing, and long-term strategy.
Steven combines his entrepreneurial spirit with his love for personal growth to create tools that empower others to embrace their own journeys with clarity, confidence, and a sense of adventure.
